Immigration advice

Residence and employed work

International recruitment requires coordination between employer and employee. We review the offer, candidate profile and immigration position to prepare the appropriate application.

We connect your information with the case that needs reviewing.

Who this is for

For employers and workers preparing employment in Spain in light of the worker’s immigration circumstances.

How we can help

Identifying the recruitment route

We check whether the case involves an initial authorisation, a change from another permission or an international mobility route. A job offer is the starting point; the procedure also depends on the candidate’s profile and current status.

Coordinating employer documents

We review the contract, duties, conditions and employer documents. Where relevant, we assess the labour market test and possible exceptions, then clarify what each party needs to provide before the application is prepared.

Preparing employee documents

We organise identification, immigration history and professional evidence, including requirements for a regulated profession where relevant. We explain which documents need updating, translation or legalisation and how to coordinate any consular stage.

Starting work and next steps

A favourable decision may require further steps before the authorisation becomes effective. We review instructions on entry, social security registration and documentation, and explain which changes in employment should be checked during its validity.

How we work with you

  1. Review the role and candidate

We connect the offer with the profile and current permission.

  2. Coordinate both sides

We identify documents needed from the company and the worker.

  3. Plan the start of employment

We review the application and subsequent steps affecting the start date.

Plan the rest of your arrival.

If you need them, MEDLA can also help with these services.

Frequently asked questions

Can the employee start the process alone?

For the initial general-regime authorisation, the employer applies. We identify the relevant route and coordinate documents from both parties.

Is a job offer enough to start working?

No. The relevant work permission and when it takes effect must be checked before a start date is agreed.
