Family reunification

Bringing your family together in Spain involves relationships, residence and documents from more than one country. We help prepare each stage with a joined-up view of the application.

Advice in English and Spanish.

Your circumstances first

We review your situation before considering a route.

Documents with a purpose

We connect your information with the case that needs reviewing.

A clear scope

We agree on the work and fees before starting the service.

Who this is for

If you live in Spain and want to explore bringing your family together while coordinating each person’s circumstances.

How we can help

Identifying the family route

We review your residence permission, family relationship and each person’s location. We distinguish general-regime reunification from routes for families of Spanish citizens, EU citizens or holders of international mobility authorisations.

Relationships, housing and resources

We organise family certificates and assess the evidence needed on resources, housing and health coverage. Where dependency or authority over a child must be established, we identify the specific records and any unresolved questions.

Coordinating Spain and the consulate

We prepare the initial file and explain any consular steps following a favourable decision. We check consistency across names, dates and foreign certificates to identify documentary issues before submission.

Arrival and continued family residence

We guide you through documentation following arrival and the conditions of the permission granted. If living arrangements or the sponsor’s status change, we assess the implications for renewal or possible independent residence.

How we work with you

  1. Map the family situation

We review relationships, permissions and where each family member lives.

  2. Coordinate the documents

We organise evidence of relationships, resources and other relevant information.

  3. Connect the stages

We review the steps involving Spain, the consulate and arrival.

Plan the rest of your arrival.

If you need them, MEDLA can also help with these services.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same process if my partner is Spanish?

It should not be assumed to be the same. Family members of Spanish citizens have a specific route that must be assessed against the circumstances.

Can I sponsor any relative?

No. The relationship and the family member’s circumstances matter. We check the relevant category and requirements before preparing the file.
